ABC Offers Workshop for Disney ABC Writing Program

Have you ever wanted to become a staff writer for a network or cable television show?  Get the insiders track! 

East West Players and Visual Communications cordially invite you to attend a very special evening with Disney ABC Television Group.

You could be one of a select group given the opportunity to meet with executives and working writers for a discussion about the prestigious Disney ABC Writing Program or other entry points for writing for television.

Disney ABC is offering a TV writing workshop, by invitation only, designed to prepare creative individuals for a career in television.

Disney provides a salaried position for up to one year and offers hands on experience writing specs, mentoring, and potential staffing on network and cable television programs.

The Disney ABC Disney Writing Program is a FREE writing competition where the participants receive a $50k/year position at Disney/ABC.

Funny, Faster, Funnier! Fern Orenstein discusses CBS Comedy Showcase…

If you’re interested in auditioning for next years CBS Comedy Showcase but haven’t a clue what is expected of you at the audition, this is your opportunity to hear what CBS VP of Casting Fern Orenstein has to say.  A lot of people go into the audition upprepared or prepared but with inappropriate material.  Past showcase particpant Hong Chau will accompany Fern to talk about her experience.  Hong was not in the union when she participated but booked her first role on “How I Met Your Mother” and also got a manager and agent from the showcase.  If interested in attending, please prepare 3 characters.  Make strong choices and think Saturday Night Live.  If you write monologues – make them brief (30 seconds – 1 minute).  This is not a requirement but an opportunity should you want to perform for Fern.

Janie Chien attended her film debut in BETTER THAN BLUE which was part of the Visual Communication’s Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival where she appeared with her father who also had a supporting role.
