If comedy is your thing, here’s your chance to shine by auditioning for CBS’s annual comedy showcase!  CBS has arranged for ACTS members to audition on September 2nd from 10-11 am (unless otherwise notified).  You must email Colin at colin.studebaker@cbs.com to secure a slot.  Besure to let Colin know you are an East West Players ACTS member!  Auditions will be held at The Network Studio located at 11967 Ventura Blvd. (at Radford), Studio City, Ca. 91604.  This is a highly competitive process however if you are lucky enough to make the cut, it’s great visibility and many actors have gone on to reap prolific careers.

Julia Kim is an independent Casting Director based in Los Angeles. She loves film and has a passion for unearthing new talent. Recent endeavors include “Wassup Rockers,” directed by the infamous Larry Clark, of “Kids” fame. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and was the opening night selection at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival. Julia also cast “Wild Tigers I Have Known,” executive produced by Gus Van Sant & Scott Rudin. It made its debut at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. She also cast “My Bollywood Bride,” which premiered at the 2006 Palm Springs Film Festival. Before that, highlights include “But I’m a Cheerleader” and “Two Family House,” which won the Audience Prize at Sundance 2000. Julia has also cast numerous national commercials for Budweiser, Bud Light, Coke Zero, Virgin and Amped Mobile. 

Julia is currently casting for “Under The Blood Red Sun” which is set for an October-November shoot in Hawaii.  Please join us on Monday, September 27 from 7-9 pm at East West Players David Henry Hwang Theatre.  Event is FREE to all ACTS members.
